Acquired by the Oakland A's from the San Diego Padres in November 2003.
2004 Highlights:
* Arguably the A's best player in 2004.
* Hit career-high .314 with a .370 OBP.
* Slugged 15 HR and drove in 63 despite spending most of the season hitting lead-off.
* Walked 55 times against 70 strikeouts.
* Played gold glove caliber defense in center.
* Had 11 outfield assists from center.
Career Highlights:
* Threw out a league-leading 20 runners from the outfield in 1999 with Florida.
* Hit a career-high 17 homeruns with San Diego in 2002.
* Stole 19 bases for Florida in 2000.
* 1996 Golden Spikes Winner and the 1995 Collegiate Baseball Co-Player of the Year and MVP of the College World Series after winning College World Series with Cal State Fullerton.
* Was a closer and an outfielder in college.
