Acquired by the Oakland A's from the Atlanta Braves in a four-player trade involving Dan Meyer, Charles Thomas and Tim Hudson in December 2004.
2004 Highlights:
* Made the full-time conversion from starter to reliever and shined in his new role.
* Compiled a 6-2 record with a 2.75 ERA in 50 appearances.
* Struck out 70 batters in 72 innings pitched.
* Allowed only 59 hits.
Career Highlights:
* Posted a 3-1 record with a 3.22 ERA during his rookie major league season with the Cubs in 2001 (8 starts).
* Pitched mostly in relief for the Cubs in 2002 and posted a 3.98 ERA with a 7.5 K:9 ratio.
